Suffolk County SPCA Honors Deer Park Firefighters

Deer Park, NY - November 19th, 2013 - The Suffolk County SPCA has awarded a Certificate of Recognition to the Deer Park Fire Dept. for saving a dog from a house fire on November 7th.

Chief Roy Gross of the Suffolk County SPCA presented the Certificate to Deer Park Fire Chief John Giammarino yesterday at a ceremony at Babylon Town Hall.  Gross said that the mix breed dog named DiDi was carried out of the unoccupied house. DiDi was suffering from smoke inhalation and exposure to the heat from the fire. Asst.

Chief Anthony Biolsi carried DiDi out of the house while EMS personnel administered oxygen to her.
