Suffolk County, NY - November 16, 2017 - Girl Scouts of Suffolk County and Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone are delighted to announce once again Girl Scouts’ Holiday Light Show at Smith Point County Park, in Shirley, NY, in 2017. Now in its 14th dazzling year, Suffolk’s own drive-through light show promises even more lights, more displays and more festive family fun! The magic runs from December 1 through December 30 (Closed Dec. 24 & Dec. 25) and is open nightly from 5pm. Cost is $20 per car. Tickets will be sold at the gate only—credit card only, no cash, no presales.

“We are delighted to continue our partnership with the County of Suffolk to bring this holiday tradition to all,” says Yvonne Grant, President & CEO of Girl Scouts of Suffolk County. “The Holiday Light Show is the perfect way for families to spend an evening together that’s filled with holiday warmth and magic.”

“The annual light show is an entertaining spectacle that brings our residents and visitors together for a great cause during the holiday season,” said County Executive Bellone. “We are proud to once again partner with Girl Scouts of Suffolk County to host the light show at the Smith Point County Park, which welcomed over 75,000 guests last year and raised more than $325,000 to support Girl Scouts initiatives and services.”

Girl Scouts’ unique programs and services are offered to all children in a myriad of ways: traditional avenues, such as troops, partnerships with school districts in STEM and Arts education, learning opportunities with other agencies, and programs for children and families in underserved communities. The Light Show enables Girl Scouts to continue to send children in need to summer camp and to maintain stewardship of its two camp properties, Camp Edey in Bayport and Camp Sobaco in Yaphank.
