Selden, NY - November 16, 2015 - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced season-end award winners in cross country representing National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III and has named Suffolk County Community College Women's Cross Country Coach Matt French the Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year.

French, of Yaphank, adds the honor to a host of accolades including:

  • Women’s Region XV Coach of the Year
  • Men’s Region XV Coach of the Year
  • Women’s USTFCCCA Northeast Region Coach of the Year
  • Women’s USTFCCCA National Coach of the Year
  • Women’s NJCAA DIII National Coach of the Year

French, in his second year with Suffolk's program, led the Sharks to the national title with 64 points, 23 ahead of runner-up Harper. Suffolk County, headed by freshman Ryleigh Donegan’s fifth-place finish, won its second national title and first since 2007.
