Giving Tower

Calverton, NY - November 16, 2015 - We're excited to be part of the Crowdrise Giving Tower this #GivingTuesday! The world is going to build the tallest building ever built. Virtual building that is!

The Giving Tower is a virtual tower made up of bricks, each of which represents a donation made to charity on GivingTuesday, the biggest charitable giving day of the year. This year, GivingTuesday is December 1st. There's going to be an app that you can download on your phone or tablet to view the tower in 3D, plus it's going to get lots of press and exposure so we're excited to be a part of it and raise lots and lots of money for our cause.

As a charity in the #GivingTuesday Challenge, the Kent Animal Shelter stands to win overall and weekly challenges. And, if we raise the most on GivingTuesday, December 1st, we'll get a $25,000 donation to our cause. There will be prizes throughout the holiday season and lots of opportunities to grow our donations.

Seeking tower builders

We are asking our loyal supporters to help by joining our team and becoming fundraisers. By reaching out to friends and family to raise awareness and money for our cause, imagine the impact we can have. It takes less than five minutes to set up a fundraiser. To sign up, go here and click 'Fundraise for This Campaign.' As an added bonus, fundraisers will be eligible to win prizes throughout the holiday season, starting on #GivingTuesday with a 32" LG flat screen television for whoever raises the most on that day!

On GivingTuesday and throughout the holiday season

Beyond #GivingTuesday, the Kent Animal Shelter fundraiser will be active on CrowdRise throughout the holiday season. The goal is to raise $27,600 for the most urgent needs of homeless pets in 2016: food and veterinary care.
