NCPD reports a Fatal Vehicular Accident in Wantagh.

Wantagh, NY - November 15, 2018 - The Homicide Squad reports the details of a Fatal Vehicular Accident that occurred at 1:25pm on Wednesday November 14, 2018 in Wantagh.
 
According to Detectives, three Town of Hempstead Sanitation Department workers were completing their route on Bunker Avenue removing leaves. The Sanitation truck was operated by one driver and on the back was a second worker on the driver’s side step and the victim, Jean Louis Macdonald of Freeport, 60, on the rear passenger side step. 
 
The truck was backing in an easterly direction and approached a parked landscapers truck resulting in the victim, Macdonald, to suffer injuries to his chest and abdomen. The male victim was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  
 
The truck will undergo safety inspections. The investigation is ongoing.
