Cops: Cedarhurst Man Charged with Hitting Pedestrian with Motorized Scooter, Fleeing Scene

NCPD report the arrest of Yosef Soyonov of Cedarhurst, 17, in connection with a hit-and-run accident.

Cedarhurst, NY - November 14, 2018 - Fourth Squad detectives report the arrest of a Cedarhurst man on Wednesday, November 14 in connection with a vehicular accident involving a pedestrian that occurred in Cedarhurst.
 
According to detectives, on Friday, September 14, after stepping out of Wok Tov, 594 Central Avenue and onto the sidewalk in front of that business, the victim, a 54 year old male, was struck at at 5:30 pm by a green electric motorized scooter that was being operated by a male white driver and accompanied by a male white rear seat passenger. After the collision both driver and passenger, who fell off the scooter, walked away without identifying themselves.
 
The victim, who suffered a serious leg injury, was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
 
Yosef Soyonov, 17, of Cedarhurst was arrested for the above crime. He is charged with Assault 3rd degree, Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree and Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Personal Injury. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at First District Court 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
