Santo Torres of Central Islip was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for a 2016 machete murder.

Central Islip, NY - November 14, 2017 - A Central Islip man was sentenced today, his 44th birthday, to 25 years to life in prison for the machete murder of his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend last year.
 
Santo Torres attacked Jose Hernandez, 39, outside a house on Bradley Street in Brentwood on September 8, 2016.
 
After a three week trial, Torres was convicted of murder in the second degree on August 8.
