Garden City, NY - November 14, 2016 - Adelphi University Performing Arts Center (AUPAC) is pleased to announce that the Department of Dance students will be performing a piece by Canadian choreographer, Aszure Barton, from Wednesday, November 30, to Sunday, December 4, 2016, at the Olmsted Theatre of AUPAC, 1 South Avenue, Garden City, NY. In addition to the choreography by Aszure Barton, this year’s annual Fall Dance Adelphi will also feature choreographed works by Frank Augustyn, William Briscoe and Orion Duckstein.

The Department of Dance is honored to present excerpts from Blue Soap by Aszure Barton, one of the most renowned and highly esteemed choreographers in the U.S. and Canada. Barton has created compositions for prominent figures in the world of dance like Mikhail Baryshnikov, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, American Ballet Theatre, The National Ballet of Canada, Nederlands Dans Theater, The Martha Graham Dance Company, Bayerisches Staatsballett, Sydney Dance Company, Houston Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, BJM Danse Montréal, and many others. Barton has also led masterclasses, mentored and collaborated with distinguished institutions like the Julliard School and Harvard University.

AUPAC is one of Long Island’s premier cultural arts venues for entertainment of all kinds.
