Glen Cove, NY - November 13, 2015 - The Long Island Academy of Fine Art (LIAFA) is hosting its third annual Wrap It Up! holiday art sale and benefit in its gallery, Hersh Fine Art.  The exhibit opening reception is December 5, 2015, from 6-8pm.  Attendance is free and open to the public.

Wrap It Up! is a juried exhibition that will bring together the work of local artists including LIAFA instructors, and advanced students.  Proceeds from art sales go to the Glen Cove Arts Council (GCAC).  Victoria Crosby, Glen Cove poet laureate, founded GCAC in 2004 to provide means for children to participate in cultural activities such as visits to museums, theater, opera and ballet, in addition to offering scholarships in the arts to talented youth whose families lack the financial means to help them pursue their dreams.

Ms. Crosby, GCAC president, said that "GCAC is thrilled to have LIAFA students, instructors, and local artists offering to help community youth by donating their time and talent to this art show and benefit reception.  We appreciate LIAFA’s continued support of the Glen Cove Arts Council."

“We look forward to continuing the relationship we have with the Glen Cove Arts Council,” said LIAFA Co-Director Rebecca Forster.  “Over the years GCAC has given many kids and adults the gift of the arts--students who otherwise would not have the opportunity to go to art camp in the summer or see professional dance performances.  We are privileged to help in this inspiring effort.”

Hersh Fine Art is located at the Long Island Academy of Fine Art, 14A Glen Street, Glen Cove, NY, 11542.  For more information please call 516-590-4324, email, or visit the website.
