Woman Arrested in East Meadow for DWI, 4 Children in Vehicle

The Nassau County Police report the arrest of a Bronx woman for Driving While Intoxicated (Leandra law) that occurred on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 3:20 a.m. in East Meadow.

East Meadow, NY - November 12, 2016 - The Nassau County Police report the arrest of a Bronx woman for Driving While Intoxicated (Leandra law) that occurred on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 3:20 a.m. in East Meadow.

According to police, Lesley Ramos, 33,  of the Bronx was  operating a 2015 Dodge Journey without headlights illuminated westbound on Hempstead Turnpike.  A  Nassau County Highway Patrol officer stopped Ramos at Park Boulevard to conduct an investigation at which time it was determined that Ramos was intoxicated.  At the time of her arrest Ramos’s four male children ages, 14, 7, 6 and 1 were in the vehicle. The children were released to a family member who responded to the location.

Ramos is charged with (4) four counts of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a child under 15, (4) four counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Driving While Intoxicated, along with multiple vehicle and traffic law infractions. She will be arraigned on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at First District Court in Hempstead.
