Rocky Point, NY - November 12, 2015 - During the month of November, we take pride in honoring our veterans. On Friday, November 6th, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker joined the students and administrators of the Joseph A. Edgar Intermediate School to honor local veterans. The assembly brought together veterans from all five branches of the military, and they were honored through songs by the 5th Grade Select Chorus “High Notes” and through the readings of essays by 5th grade students.

“I am proud to join the students of Rocky Point to honor the brave men and women of our community who have protected our freedom,” said Legislator Anker. “I am humbled to pay tribute to those who serve and protect our country.”

For the past 15 years, the Joseph A. Edgar School has honored local veterans through their annual “Salute to America’s Veterans” assembly.
