Freeport Man Arrested After Break-In At Mineola Apartment Building, Police Report

Mineola, NY - November 9, 2017 - Third Squad detectives report the arrest of a Freeport man for a burglary that occurred in Mineola on Monday, 10/23/17 at 7:30 A.M.
 
According to detectives, Glenn Williams Jr., 31, of Freeport, entered an apartment building located at 140 Old Country Rd., took the elevator to an upper floor and entered an unlocked apartment.  While rummaging through the apartment, the female resident, 36, returned home and demanded the defendant leave the apartment. The subject fled the scene.  No loss was reported.
 
No injuries were reported.
 
On Wednesday, 11/08/17, Freeport police officers, while on routine patrol, located the defendant sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle on Atlantic Ave./S. Main St., in Freeport, where he was placed under arrest.
 
Williams is being charged with Burglary 2nd Degree, Criminal Contempt 2nd Degree and will be arraigned on Thursday, 11/09/17 in First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
