Roslyn Heights, NY - November 9, 2016 - The Homicide Squad reports the details of a fatal auto accident involving a motorcycle on Tuesday, November 08, 2016 at 2:59 p.m. in Roslyn Heights.

According to detectives, Joao P. Cunha, 37, of Mineola was operating a 2015 Yamaha motorcycle northbound on Roslyn Road when he was in collision with a vehicle which was turning into a parking lot south of the Long Island Expressway.  The victim was transported to North Shore University Hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 5:32 p.m. by hospital staff.  Both vehicles were impounded for brake and safety examinations.  No other injuries were reported.
