Suffolk Police Report Mastic Man Arrested for Robbery of Local HSBC Bank

Mastic, NY - November 7, 2018 - Suffolk County Police have arrested a man for robbing a Mastic bank on Tuesday, November 6.
 
Randy Ayers entered HSBC, located at 1718 Montauk Highway, on November 6 at approximately 12:48 p.m. Ayers approached a teller and presented a note demanding cash. The teller complied and Ayers fled on foot. Seventh Precinct officers responded and officer Cody Matthews located Ayers a short time later.
 
Ayers, 58, of Mastic, was arrested and charged with Robbery 3rd Degree.
 
Ayers will be held overnight at the Seventh Precinct, and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on November 7.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
