Suffolk County Police have arrested a Bay Shore teen for posting a threat on Twitter stating a shooting would occur during a high school soccer game.

Bay Shore, NY - November 7th, 2013 - Suffolk County Police have arrested a Bay Shore teen for posting a threat on Twitter stating a shooting would occur during a high school soccer game.

Third Squad detectives were notified on November 6 of a Twitter posting made on November 4 that stated a shooting would occur at a soccer game being held at the Dowling College Sports Complex in Shirley on November 7.

Mario Cernas, 19, was arrested at his home, located at 1770 Stein Dr. in Bay Shore, on November 6 at approximately 6 p.m. and charged with Making a Terroristic Threat, a Class D Felony. Cernas was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip today.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
