Suffolk PD: Wyandanch Man Arrested for Stealing Multiple Packages on Door Steps

Suffolk County, NY - November 5, 2018 - Suffolk County Police on Saturday, November 3 arrested a man for stealing multiple packages off of residences porches in Suffolk County since August.
 
Since August 29, the same suspect has stolen multiple packages from at least eight residences in the Third and Fifth Precinct areas. 
 
On November 2nd Third Precinct Officer Alejandro Marin responded to a larceny on Commack Road in Brentwood. Today he observed a man driving a Toyota Rav 4, which fit the description of the suspect and his vehicle that committed the larceny from yesterday. Officer Marin initiated a vehicle and traffic stop on 2nd Avenue Brentwood near Brentwood Road at approximately 8:40 a.m. and arrested Nicholas Robinson. Robinson, 33, of Wyandanch was arrested and charged with eight counts of Petit Larceny.
 
Robinson was charged by the Third Precinct and Fifth Precinct Crime Section officers for the following larcenies:
 
  • 8/29 Two packages were stolen off the front porch of a residence on Roosevelt Avenue, Islip
  • 9/28 Two packages stolen off the front porch of a residence on Union Boulevard, Islip   
  • 10/8 A package was stolen off the front porch of a residence on Adams Street East, East Islip
  • 10/12 A package was stolen off the front porch of a residence on Cornell Street, Islip
  • 10/15 A package was stolen off the front porch of a residence on Redmond Avenue, Bay Shore
  • 10/31  A package was stolen off the front porch of a residence on 1st Avenue, Bayport   
  • 10/31  A package was stolen from a different residence on 1st Avenue, Bayport       
  • 11/2   A package was stolen from a residence on Commack Road, Bay Shore
Robinson was held overnight at the Third Precinct and was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on November 4.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
