Police: 8 Year-Old Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Huntington Motor Vehicle Crash

SCPD are investigating a vehicle crash that injured a child in Huntington.

Huntington, NY - November 5, 2018 - Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a child pedestrian in Huntington on Saturday, November 3.
 
An 8 year-old girl was walking across the roadway on New York Avenue at approximately 12:10 p.m. when she was struck by a 1997 Ford van which was travelling southbound on New York Avenue.
 
The girl, of Lloyd Harbor, was transported to Huntington Hospital by Huntington Community First Aid Squad, and thereafter transported to Cohen’s Children’s Hospital in Queens for treatment. The driver of the van, Pedro Guerrero, of West Babylon was not injured and stayed at the scene.  
 
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding the crash to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
