Authorities Report Homeless Woman Charged with Burglary of Lynbrook Residence

Lynbrook, NY - November 5, 2018 - The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of a homeless woman for a Burglary that occurred on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 12:42 a.m. in Lynbrook.
 
According to detectives, patrol officers responded to a burglary alarm located at a residence on Merrick Road. Upon arrival officers discovered the front door was shattered. The officers searched the building and found cabinet drawers open and rummaged through. 
 
A search of the building was conducted and the subject was found hiding in the building.  Maria Campione, 19, who is homeless, was placed under arrest without incident.
 
The Defendant, Maria Campione, is charged with Burglary 3rd Degree and Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree. She will be arraigned on Saturday, November 03, 2018 in First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
