Valley Stream, NY - November 5th, 2013 - Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred in Valley Stream on Monday, 11/04/13 at 5:33 P.M.

According to detectives, a male subject approached a female victim, 56, from behind in the parking lot of Chase Bank located at 163 W. Merrick Rd., threw her to the ground and ripped her pocketbook, containing cash, credit cards and an Iphone, from her grasp.  The subject fled northbound on Fletcher Ave. and then down State St.

The victim, who suffered scratches on her fingers and wrist, refused medical attention at the scene.  

The subject is described as a male black in his late teens, 5’7” tall, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants.  No further description is available.
