Multiple Robberies in Suffolk County in Two Weeks, Police Seek Suspect

Written by Wendy L  |  06. November 2013

In a period of two weeks since the end of October there have been eight robberies in Suffolk County. Police believe each robbery is by the same suspect.

The suspect is described as a white man, between 25 and 35 years old, approximately 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet 2 inches tall with a thin to medium build. He also usually wears a dark-colored or gray hooded sweatshirt.

The suspect would pretend to make a purchase and when the cash register is opened, he would display a black handgun and demand cash.

For each incident, the suspect would flee the location on foot, possibly heading to a waiting vehicle nearby. Fortunately in all incidences there have been no injuries.

So far, between Oct. 26 and Nov. 5, the suspect has robbed seven gas stations, including in Eastport, Calverton, Mastic, North Babylon, St. James, Dix Hills and Bohemia. He’s also robbed a Jamba Juice in Stony Brook.

Anyone with information on these robberies or anyone recognizing the suspect displayed in this article’s photo is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
