Nassau County Legislator Joshua Lafazan (Woodbury) joined leaders and members of the Long Island Coalition Against Bullying (LICAB) to commemorate October as National Bullying Prevention Month during a dome lighting ceremony at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive & Legislative Building on Thursday, Oct. 21.

“Through our ongoing efforts to raise awareness about bullying and the harm it causes throughout our society, I hope that we will encourage people to embrace and respect each other’s differences and celebrate what makes all of us unique,” Legislator Lafazan said. “It is truly my pleasure to recognize the Long Island Coalition Against Bullying (LICAB) and stand with them as they continue their efforts to end bullying on Long Island.”

“We are so proud to once again join with Legislator Lafazan and our partners in government in commemorating October as Bullying Prevention Month in Nassau County with the annual lighting of the dome,” Joe Salamone, Executive Director of the Long Island Coalition Against Bullying said. “As rates of bullying related instances increase amongst children and teens it is more important than ever to make sure we keep a sharp focus on coping with current instances of bullying and preventing future instances from happening.”
