Man Arrested After Killing His Mother's Boyfriend on Halloween

Holbrook, NY - November 1, 2015  - Suffolk County Police today arrested a man who stabbed and killed his mother’s live-in boyfriend in Holbrook last night.

Rakien Hall and Oscar Green were engaged in an altercation in the apartment they shared, located at 700A Portion Road, Holbrook, when Hall stabbed Green in the neck at approximately 5:55 p.m. last night. Hall fled the apartment on foot. This morning at approximately 8:50 a.m. Sixth Precinct officers located and arrested Hall.

Green, 47, was transported to Stony Brook University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Homicide detectives charged Hall, 31, with Manslaughter 1st Degree. Hall will be held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on November 2.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
