Motorcyclist Observed Attempting a "Wheelie" at Roosevelt Field Mall Parking Area Loses Control, Killed

Garden City, NY - November 1, 2015 - Homicide Squad detectives are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 8:50 pm in Garden City.

According to detectives, while operating his 2014 Suzuki motorcycle on the second level of the elevated parking area at the Roosevelt Field Mall (northeast parking location), the 31 year old male operator from Saint Albans was observed attempting a “wheelie”, lost control of the motorcycle and accidentally struck the retaining wall. He was then ejected from the motorcycle and fell to the ground (approximately 20 feet) suffering multiple trauma injuries. After being transported to an area hospital he was pronounced deceased by a staff physician.

The motorcycle was impounded for brake and safety checks and the name of the operator is being withheld at this time. The investigation into this accident continues.
