Riverhead Attacker Wanted for Assault

Riverhead, NY - November 1, 2013 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Riverhead Town Police are seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the man who assaulted a woman in a bathroom at a Riverhead outlet mall this week. 
 
A 67-year-old female was in the women’s bathroom at the Tanger Outlet Mall, located at 1770 West Main St., when she was attacked by a male on October 29 at 12 p.m. The victim was screaming for help when another woman entered the bathroom. The witness exited and notified mall personnel. The suspect fled on foot toward River Road. 
 
The man was described as black, clean-shaven, 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 8 inches tall, slim and possibly in his teens or 20s. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt. 
 
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
