SCPD: Mastic Man Fatally Stabs the Mother of His Three Children

Mastic, NY - October 31, 2017 - Suffolk County Police have arrested a man who fatally stabbed the mother of his three children in Mastic, New York, on Monday, October 30, 2017.
 
Kenneth Smith stabbed Krystal Nash during a domestic dispute at her home, located at on Patchogue Ave., at approximately 7:35 a.m. Smith fled the scene in the victim’s car. A relative in the house called 911. Nash was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, where she was pronounced dead. Homicide Squad detectives located the victim’s vehicle at a residence on Thrasher Drive in Bellport. Smith, who was in the vehicle, was arrested and charged him with Murder 2nd Degree.
 
Smith, 32, and Nash, 28, have three children together, a 10-year-old boy, 7-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy. The children, who were home at the time of the incident, were not harmed.
 
Smith, who resided on Patchogue Ave., will be held at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on October 31.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
