Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly announced that a Queens man pleaded guilty to Sex Trafficking and promoting prostitution charges for trafficking that occurred in Uniondale and bringing women to a hotel in Garden City for the purposes of prostitution.
Jorge Ramos, 55, pleaded guilty on October 27, 2025, before Judge Meryl Berkowitz to all counts, including charges of Sex Trafficking (a B felony); Promoting Prostitution in the Second Degree (a C felony); and Promoting Prostitution in the Third Degree (a D felony).
NCDA recommended a sentence of three to nine years in prison and for the defendant to register as a sex offender.
The court is expected to sentence Ramos to one to three years in prison on December 11, 2025. The defendant will also be ordered to register as a sex offender. Ramos also signed two asset forfeiture agreements for a 2011 Acura TSX and a 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander.
“Sex trafficking can happen anywhere and to anyone, even in popular chain hotels in Nassau County neighborhoods. Jorge Ramos exploited these victims and threatened one of the women into compliance to keep her working for him in a life of prostitution,” said DA Donnelly. “Thanks to extensive surveillance and undercover work by our law enforcement partners, this predator was arrested and brought to justice for what he did to these women. My office will always stand up for victims of these horrendous crimes and do everything we can to put their traffickers behind bars.”
DA Donnelly said that between November 21, 2023, and November 23, 2023, the defendant trafficked a victim at his home in Astoria, Queens, and at the Marriott Hotel in Uniondale.
At the hotel, the defendant verbally threatened to expose a video of the victim to the victim’s family if she failed to engage in prostitution and assist the defendant with his prostitution business.
Additionally, on the date of the defendant’s arrest in February 2025, at the Hyatt Place Hotel in Garden City, the defendant was observed transporting two women to the hotel in his car.
The defendant had reserved a hotel room at the location to bring the women for the purposes of prostitution.
Search warrants executed at the defendant’s home and in two vehicles on February 20, 2025, recovered numerous cell phones and electronic devices.
The defendant was arrested on February 20, 2025, by the FBI Long Island Human Trafficking Task Force, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the Nassau County Police Department’s Narcotics Vice Squad.
The case is being prosecuted by Deputy Bureau Chief Christine Guida of the Special Victims Bureau under the supervision of Bureau Chief Emma Slane and under the overall supervision of Executive Assistant District Attorney for the Litigation Division Kevin Higgins. The defendant is represented by Peter Menoudakos, Esq.
