F.H. Riley's closed last year in Huntington after more than a decade in business, but promises of a new East Northport location cropped up almost immediately. Now, Riley’s East is serving up some of the old familiar plates people had come to love in Huntington along with some new ones.

Their appetizers feature Riley’s Chicken Gumbo with creole seasoned poultry, grilled andouille, braised vegetables, okra, dark roux and jasmine pilaf ($9) and Kung-pao Cauliflower, tempura battered and tossed with scallion szechuan soy glaze, crispy rice noodles, lime, and a side of sesame ginger aioli ($9).

They also have a variety of specialty chopped salads including a House salad ($6), Caesar salad ($7), and a delicious-sounding Autumn Harvest salad that has mixed greens, pinot poached pears, maple walnuts, dried cranberries, roasted beets, blue cheese crumbles, sweet potato croutons and is tossed with toasted cider vinaigrette ($9).

Along with sandwiches the entrees include a Meatloaf Au Gratin ($20), their special Riley’s Mac & Cheese ($13), Pasta Bolognese ($16), and Herb Crusted Salmon ($23).

Sean T., from East Northport, celebrated the new location on Yelp.

“Absolutely love Riley's,” he wrote. “As an East Northport resident, I went to their Huntington location for years. Now that they are right down the block, life is good!”

Florence I., of Fort Salonga, agreed.

“So happy Riley's opened in Northport. Great food, service and ambiance,” she said. “This is a great local place and we will definitely be back.”
