Patchogue, NY - October 27, 2016 - This morning, Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center (BMHMC) marked the completion of the construction of the new 60,000 square foot, $60 million Knapp Cardiac Care Center (KCCC) at the Hospital’s Patchogue, NY campus.

“The Knapp Cardiac Care Center will allow more than 25 cardiologists and teams of talented and caring nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and medical technologists to provide Long Islanders with a more heartfelt approach to cardiac care,” stated BMHMC President & CEO Richard T. Margulis. “The dream is now a reality thanks to the generosity of the Knapp Swezey Foundation, our Board of Directors, civic groups and organizations, our employees and many, many individuals coming together to make a real difference in the community.”

In her remarks, Lisa Rose, Chair of the BMHMC Board of Directors noted, “We undertook this capital campaign to expand cardiac care capabilities for the over 380,000 Long Islanders we serve. Speaking on behalf of the family, Priscilla Knapp-Teich said: “It has been exciting to watch the progress of this construction from the groundbreaking in 2014 to today’s official launch.

We are proud to be able to help make a lasting impact on our community.”
