Setauket Man Arrested in Franklin Square for Possessing Child Pornography

Franklin Square, NY - October 28th, 2014 - The Major Case Bureau, Crimes Against Property Squad report the arrest of a Setauket man at 1:15pm on October 27, 2014.

According to Detectives, Edward Weisinger, 45, of Neal Path Setauket was arrested at his home without incident with the assistance of the Suffolk County Police Department. The defendant left the memory card to his computer at a residence in Franklin Square. The homeowner observed what was on the card and contacted the Nassau County Police Department immediately. After a search warrant was issued to view the contents of the memory card, it was determined the contents to be images of child pornography.

The owner of the memory card, defendant Edward Weisinger is charged with five counts of Possessing Sexual Performance of a Child.  The defendant was taken to a local hospital for a medical evaluation for confinement; he will be arraigned as soon as medically practical.
