According to officers, three Westbury men, who launched their 16’ boat from the Oyster Bay boat ramp, became disabled after the boat suffered mechanical failure.

A search for the boat and its passengers was conducted and a short time later Helicopter 5 located the partially submerged vessel and the three occupants who had made it to shore in the vicinity of “The Sand Hole”, a beach area south of Lloyd Point.
