Suffolk County Police on Thursday, October 23 arrested seven people during raids at multiple businesses that sell cannabis products.
In response to numerous community complaints, Narcotics Section detectives, assisted by the Asset Forfeiture Unit, and the Second, Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Precinct Investigative Units, as well as personnel from the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, the New York State Office of Financial Services, and the Internal Revenue Service, conducted an investigation into four business that illegally sold cannabis products.
The stores, all named Organically Connected, are located at 202 Main St. in Port Jefferson; 18 Railroad Ave. in Patchogue; 415 New York Ave. in Huntington; and 401 Hawkins Ave., Suite 4, in Ronkonkoma.
The following people were arrested:
- Maxime Boucard, 43, of, Brentwood, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, and Security Guard without a License. He was issued a Desk Appearance Ticket and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
- Eleanor Dlouhy, 23, of Coram, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree. She will be held overnight and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on October 24.
- Ivalisse Avila, 24, of Selden, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree. She will be held overnight and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on October 24.
- Kalea Wetsell, 21, of Coram, was charged with Criminal Possession of Cannabis 2nd Degree. She was issued a Desk Appearance Ticket and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
- Curtis Thompson, 38, of Coram, was charged with Security Guard without a License. He was issued a Desk Appearance Ticket and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
- Andres Santos, 43, of Huntington, was charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration, Resisting Arrest, False Personation and Security Guard without a License. He was issued a Desk Appearance Ticket and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
- Alexandra Akhalkatsi, 37, of the Bronx, was charged with Criminal Possession of Cannabis 2nd Degree. She was issued a Desk Appearance Ticket and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
Police seized in excess of 100 pounds of cannabis, cannabis products and edibles, hallucinations, and more than $50,000.
All the businesses were shut down.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
