SCPA: Brentwood Woman Charged with Animal Cruelty After Withholding Medical Care from Her Dog

Lisa Daniels, 55, is the owner of a Border Collie/Lab named Trixie, who had an untreated injury to her leg, cops say.

The Suffolk County SPCA charged Lisa Daniels of Brentwood, 55, with animal cruelty.

Brentwood, NY - October 23, 2018 - Detectives with the Suffolk County SPCA charged a  Brentwood woman with animal cruelty on Monday, October 22th, 2018.
 
Lisa Daniels, 55, was charged with failure to provide veterinary care to Trixie, her 3 year old Border Collie/Lab. Trixie had an untreated injury to her leg due to an imbedded rubber band which was cutting off circulation, and causing an open wound. Trixie, who was unable to walk due to her injury, was signed over to Babylon Shelter and immediately transported to an emergency animal hospital where she underwent surgery to save the leg. 
 
Daniels is scheduled to appear in 1st District Court on 1/9/2019.
