Rocky Point, NY - October 23rd, 2013 - On Saturday, October 12th, Legislator Sarah Anker joined Rocky Point School District in celebrating Homecoming. Legislator Anker, school board members, and other elected officials participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony for the high school’s new turf track and field.

“I am proud to join the Rocky Point School District in this ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate its new facilities,” said Legislator Anker. “Theturf stadium projectis a great addition to Rocky Point’s athletic program and will enhance the experience of our student athletes.”

The ribbon cutting ceremony took place immediately after the Homecoming Parade, which featured grades from the high school competing in a contest of cereal-themed floats. A ceremonial blue ribbon extended across the length of the field with each participant cutting a portion of the ribbon.
