Suffolk County Police on Saturday, October 18, arrested a North Amityville man for shooting an acquaintance to death.
First Precinct officers responded to 9 Francine Ave. on October 18 at 8:55 p.m. after a 911 caller reported a male with a gunshot wound. When officers arrived, they found Robin Moscoso-Hernandez with a single gunshot wound to the chest.
Moscoso-Hernandez, 17, of Bethpage, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was pronounced dead.
Homicide Squad detectives charged Bryan Ventura-Ramirez with Manslaughter 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Firearm.
Ventura-Ramirez, 20, who lives in the Francine Avenue home, will be held overnight at the Third Precinct for arraignment on October 20 at First District Court in Central Islip.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
