Members of the local community and Dunkin’ fans alike poured into Dunkin’s newly remodeled next generation restaurant at 35-37 East Sunrise Highway in the Village of Freeport within the Town of Hempstead on Friday, October 10 as part of its grand reopening celebration.
Dunkin’ franchisee Patiwana/Shah Network commemorated the occasion with a $3,000 donation to the Family & Children’s Association in conjunction with the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation. Located in nearby Garden City, the Family & Children’s Association provides help and hope to Long Island’s most vulnerable families, children, seniors, individuals and communities.
“FCA is deeply grateful for the generous $3,000 donation we received from the Patiwana/Shah Network and the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation,” said Family & Children’s Association Chief Communications Officer Kim Como. “It is far more than a financial gift — it’s a meaningful investment in hope, healing, and community. Support like this allows us to provide nutritious meals and snacks, engaging wellness activities, and other essential services that nurture the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of the children and youth we serve. Thank you for helping us make a lasting difference.”
Village of Freeport Mayor Robert Kennedy; Village Clerk Pam Walsh Boening; Village Deputy Clerk Lisa DeBourg; Nassau County District Legislator Debra Mulé; and Town of Hempstead Clerk Kate Murray joined the celebration and participated in a commemorative ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The newly remodeled Dunkin’ employs 12 crew members and is open daily from 4:30 a.m. until 10 p.m.
