Bicyclist Killed in North Amityville Motor Vehicle Crash

North Amityville, NY - October 20th, 2014 - Suffolk County Police Vehicular Crime Unit detectives are investigating a crash that killed a bicyclist in North Amityville last night.

An unidentified male bicyclist was struck by a 1999 Lexus 300 that was travelling northbound on Route 110 in North Amityville last night at 9:02 p.m. The victim of the crash was transported by North Amityville Fire Department to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the vehicle, Scott Walley, 50, of Amityville, remained at the scene and was uninjured.

This investigation is continuing and detectives are looking for additional vehicles that may have also been involved in a secondary crash involving the bicyclist.
