Driver Sought for Fleeing Wyandanch Crash That Seriously Injured Pedestrian

Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a pedestrian and an additional crash involving an unmarked police vehicle that occurred in Wyandanch.
 
Firearms Suppression Team officers attempted to pull over a vehicle that had just left a known drug location in the vicinity of Sunrise Highway and Bayview Avenue in Amityville at 1:56 p.m. The vehicle fled and the officers followed the vehicle. The vehicle, a black Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV, struck a Subaru on County Line Road and Francine Avenue in North Amityville. The Subaru driver was not injured. The Mercedes then struck a pedestrian on South 18th Street in Wyandanch at approximately 2 p.m. The driver fled the scene in the Mercedes.
 
A responding unmarked police vehicle, with emergency lights activated, traveling northbound on Straight Path, near Washington Avenue, was struck by an uninvolved Mazda that made a left turn in front of it at 2:05 p.m. Both vehicles overturned.
 
The pedestrian, Marie Anne Renaudin-Cene, 60, of Wheatley Heights, was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Mazda, Adrienne Passmore, 45, of Huntington Station, was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The four officers in the unmarked vehicle were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
The Mercedes-Benz G-Class, bearing a temporary FL plate 10DENT, was occupied by at least two men. It was later determined that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of New York City.
