Last week Presiding Officer Calarco joined County Executive Steve Bellone and Suffolk’s Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer, Retha Fernandez, to honor Eva Rodriguez-Greguski and other County employees during Hispanic Heritage Month.

 

The award, given by the County Executive and the Department of Human Resources, Personnel and Civil Service, is presented to employees of Hispanic heritage who consistently exceed expectations while displaying qualities of teamwork, integrity, dedication, and inclusivity while fostering a positive and cooperative work environment.

 

"Eva has gone above and beyond for her community in her eight years of working in my office. She never hesitates to lead the charge for change in her neighborhood and exemplifies what it means to be a truly good person whose moral compass effortlessly leads her to the doorstep of those who need her most. Where others would be reluctant to face complex challenges, Eva consistently rises to the occasion with her signature sincerity and wit," said Presiding Officer Calarco.

 

This week marks the end of Hispanic Heritage Month. From September 15th to October 15th, Americans can celebrate the diversity and beauty of the Latinx culture. Hispanic and Latinx Americans are at the forefront of our communities. This month is a time to honor the Hispanic and Latinx Americans, including those in our community, who have played a vital role in the moments and movements that have shaped this nation since its founding.
