Shrimpys Burrito Bar has opened a new location in Huntington. The burrito bar is, according to its website, a California style restaurant with their own little twist of New York flavor. Their original location is in Massapequa Park.

The menu items reflect the “hang-loose” nature of the owners who all grew up on the South Shore of Long Island.

Of course there is the The Strong Island Burrito (surf n’ turf) with seasoned rice, sautéed peppers & onions, corn salsa, monterey jack/cheddar cheese, guacamole, sour cream w/ grilled steak & shrimp ($11.25). The Nach-Yo Average Burrito with seasoned rice, crushed tortilla chips, black beans, queso, monterey jack/cheddar cheese, pico de gallo, jalapenos & sour cream w/ choice of Chicken ($9.50), Beef ($9.75), Marinated Steak ($10.25), or Shrimp ($10.75). And the Bang Bang Taco, a soft shell taco with marinated steak, jalapeno pico de gallo, shredded monterey jack/cheddar cheese, sliced avocado & our special hot sauce ($4.99).

On Yelp, Deirdre C., of Huntington, said, “So many good choices and I liked everything I tried!”

“I especially liked the ground beef quesadilla and the buffalo chicken quesadilla,m” she wrote. “Looking forward to getting the Boo-rito tonight for dinner!”

Shannon E., from Greenlawn, said that she ordered take-out.

“The friendly staff, who all wore masks appropriately, provided quick service,” she wrote. “It was nice that the food was still hot when I got home too.”

Shannon ordered a shrimpy taco, veggie good burrito, pineapple shrimp skewer, chicken quesadilla, strong island burrito, sides of shrimpy sauce and poblano ranch.

“Overall food was hot and good,” she said. “The burritos were huge which was great but could have used a little extra flavor. We dipped them in extra poblano and shrimpy sauce which were great. We really enjoyed the poblano ranch sauce. Shrimpy taco was filling and tasty. All meat/shrimp in the dishes seemed of good quality and fresh.”
