Police Report Man Arrested After Caught Driving Unlicensed with 34 Suspensions

Massapequa, NY - October 19, 2018 - The Seventh Precinct reports the Arrest of a Roosevelt man for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle that occurred on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 9:00 p.m. in Massapequa.
 
According to police, while on routine patrol, officers conducted a VTL stop on defendant John Phillips, 35, for a defective tail light while traveling west bound on Sunrise Hwy. Further investigation revealed that he was operating a 2012 Kia while unlicensed. The defendant was also found to have 34 suspensions. He was placed under arrest without incident.
 
John Phillips is charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st Degree as well as multiple VTL violations. He will be arraigned on Friday, October 19, 2018 at First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
