SCPD: Woman Robs Shirley Bank While Leaving Baby in Vehicle
Shirley, NY - October 19, 2017 - Suffolk County Police have arrested a woman for robbing a Shirley bank while she left her baby in the vehicle on Wednesday, October 18, 2017.
A woman entered Bridgehampton National Bank, located at 630 Montauk Highway, and presented a note demanding cash. The teller complied and the woman fled in a vehicle at approximately 9:50 a.m. Witnesses provided a description of the vehicle to responding police officers. A short time later, police officers pulled over the woman in the vehicle on Lombardi Drive in Shirley. The woman’s 10-month-old son was in the vehicle.
Following an investigation by Major Case Unit detectives, Madison Munoz, 20, of Shirley, was arrested and charged with Robbery 3rd Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. She will be held overnight for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on Thursday, October 19. The child was released to family members and Suffolk County CPS was notified.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
