Hempstead, NY - October 19th, 2013 - The Special Investigations Squad reports the details of an arrest for Burglary and Criminal Possession of a Weapon that occurred on October 18, 2013 at 5:58 PM in Hempstead.
 
According to detectives, officers were driving on Fulton Avenue when they observed a male driving a 1993 Chevrolet with temporary Tennessee license plates who failed to signal while making a left turn.  Detectives activated their emergency lights and sirens.  The defendant increased his speed and reached over to the passenger door and pushed an unknown female out of the automobile.  The defendant then continued to drive recklessly passing numerous stop signs and was observed by detectives discarding a silver revolver with a black handle out of the passenger side window, a black box containing a large amount of ammunition and a black KG-99 semi automatic handgun, all while driving through the streets of Hempstead and Uniondale.
 
At one point the defendant drove into on coming traffic on Greenwich Street, Hempstead. The defendant then stopped and fled the vehicle in front of 1030 Van Buren Street, Uniondale.  Nassau County Police Department Bureau of Special Operations, Emergency Service Unit, Aviation, Canine 9 and First Precinct officers all responded to the scene.  The defendant Oralus C. Sebea, 29, of 506 Cedar Street, Uniondale was observed by witnesses entering a back door at 1016 Adams Street, Uniondale.  Officers were able to remove all the occupants from the home and Sebea was identified and placed under arrest.  A M1 Carbine assault rifle was also found on the drivers’ side floor of the vehicle.  The silver revolver was not recovered. 
 
The defendant is being charged with Burglary 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd (3 counts), Reckless Driving, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd Degree and Improper Turn/Failing to Signal.  Detectives also determined that Sebea had two open warrants from Nassau County for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and Bail Jumping issued on January 20, 2012 and July 10, 2013 respectively. Oralus Sebea will be arraigned on October 19, 2013 at First District Court, Hempstead.
