Legislator Anker Attends Open House at Miller Place Fire Department

Miller Place, NY - October 17, 2017 - On Sunday, October 15, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker attended the Fire Safety Open House at the Miller Place Fire Department. The event included hands-on activities for kids, information about fire safety, burning demonstrations, car rescue demonstrations, EMT display, homemade desserts, and a K9 demonstration by the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department.

“I am proud to support our local volunteer firefighters and emergency service personnel who are dedicated to ensuring the safety our communities,” said Legislator Anker. “The Miller Place Fire Department does an exceptional job training their volunteer firefighters and also educating the public about fire safety.”

The Miller Place Fire Department will be hosting their 7th annual “Stuff-a-Bus” food drive on Friday, November 17th from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Stop & Shop in Miller Place. They will be collecting nonperishable food items to be donated to the food pantry at St. Louis de Montfort Church.
