Two Pedestrians Hit By Vehicle Reversing at a High Rate of Speed in Bayville, Driver DWI Charge

Bayville, NY - October 16, 2016 - The Nassau County Police report the arrest of a Bayville man at 8:15pm on Saturday, October 15, 2016 in Bayville.

According to Officers, defendant Brian J. Murphy, 29, of Bayville, was operating a 1996 gray colored Ford Taurus initially travelling westbound on Bayville Avenue and then had reversed at a high rate of speed striking two pedestrians.  The male victim, 54, suffered a laceration to his elbow; the female victim, 52, suffered fractures to her lower extremities.  Both victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Defendant Brian J. Murphy is charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Assault 3rd Degree, Vehicular Assault 2nd Degree, DWI, Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree and Reckless Driving.  He will be arraigned on Sunday, October 16, 2016 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
