Manhattan Man Arrested for Lawrence Bank Robbery

Lawrence, NY - October 17th, 2014 - The Major Case Bureau, Robbery Squad reports the arrest of a Manhattan man for a bank robbery that occurred on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in Lawrence.

According to detectives, Alberto A. Lopez, 24 of W. 150th Street, entered the Bank of America located at 400 Central Avenue at 9:45 a.m. and verbally demanded money from an employee. Lopez fled on foot northbound on Washington Avenue with an undetermined amount of U.S. currency.  Fourth Precinct officers responded to the scene and located Lopez at 10:30 a.m. on Rockaway Turnpike where he was placed under arrest without incident. The proceeds were recovered and no injuries were reported.

Lopez is charged with Robbery 3rd degree and will be arraigned on Friday, October 17, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
