CANCELLED - SCPD Seeking Missing Kings Park Man Suffering from Schizophrenia

UPDATE - October 24, 2018 - Police report that Eugene Chaitowicz has been located, unharmed.

Kings Park, NY - October 16, 2018 - The Suffolk County Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for a missing Kings Park man who suffers from schizophrenia.
 
Eugene Chaitowicz was last seen October 1 at approximately 7 a.m. Chaitowicz lives at the New York State Office of Mental Health Community Residence, located at 151 The Boulevard. Chaitowicz, 59, is white, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, 120 pounds, with brown eyes, gray balding hair, and a full beard. Chaitowicz is known to walk around the Kings Park area, but has previously been found in Nassau County.
 
Anyone with information about Chaitowicz’ location is asked to call 911 or Suffolk County Police Department Fourth Squad detectives at 631-854-8441.
 
As a reminder, Silver Alert is a program implemented in Suffolk County that allows local law enforcement to share information with media outlets about individuals with special needs who have been reported missing.
