Scattered power outages are expected. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph, or gusts of 46 to 57 mph, are expected or occurring. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles, in open areas, and on elevated roads and bridges. Use extra caution. , "Special Statement" ...Very slippery conditions through tonight... temperatures will plummet through tonight well below freezing. As these temperatures fall, plenty of residual moisture and leftover standing water on area roads will freeze, or remain frozen. This will lead to areas of black ice. Huntington Man Charged with Starving His Two Pit Bulls, According to SPCA

Huntington, NY - October 15, 2018 - Detectives with the Suffolk County SPCA charged a Huntington man with animal cruelty on Friday  October 12th, 2018.
 
William Woods Jr., 55,  was charged with two counts of animal neglect (353 AM) for failure to provide proper sustenance to his two Pit Bull canines. A 2 year old female Pit Bull and a 2 year old male Pit Bull were found emaciated. The dogs were removed to Huntington Town Shelter. Four 3 month old Pit Bulls were also found in his possession and they were also removed from the property. 
 
Woods is scheduled to appear in 1st District Court on  12/12/2018.
 
Chief Gross said that animal cruelty will not be tolerated in Suffolk County. If you witness any incident of animal cruelty or neglect in Suffolk County please contact the Suffolk County SPCA at (631) 382-7722. All calls will be kept confidential.
