Five William Floyd High School Students Honored at Town Hispanic Heritage Celebration

Mastic Beach, NY - October 15, 2018 - Five William Floyd High School students were recently recognized at the fifth annual Town of Brookhaven Advisory Board Hispanic Heritage Month celebration for their stellar academic performance by maintaining a grade point average of 3.7 or higher. The Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration is designed to bring community members, high school students and elected officials together for an evening of culture including performances, a food tasting and student recognition. The five students recognized for their academic achievements include Brianna Acevedo, Arielle Martinez, Manny Santana, Crystal Santiago and Ariana Ventura.
 
The Brookhaven Town Hispanic Advisory Board was established in 2013 to help improve cultural understanding between the Hispanic community, civic and business leaders, Brookhaven government and town residents. The mission of the board is to discuss and address issues of importance and relevance to the Hispanic community and make recommendations regarding proposed legislation to the Brookhaven Town Board.
