NCPD Crime Alert: Woman Mugged in Freeport

Freeport, NY - October 15th, 2015 - The First Squad is investigating a Robbery that occurred on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 5:20 am in Freeport.

According to detectives, a 38 year old female victim was walking on North Main Street, when she was approached from behind by an unknown male subject. The subject grabbed her pocketbook, but she refused to let go. The subject then punched the victim in her face forcing her to release the bag.

The subject then fled the scene northbound on North Main Street. Proceeds were an undetermined amount of US currency and personal papers. The victim refused medical attention at the scene.  The subject is described as a male black, thin build approximately 6 feet tall wearing a black sweater with red and white patches and a thick gold chain.
