Nassau County Police Dept: Man Arrested in East Meadow for Selling MDMA

East Meadow, NY - October 15th, 2013 - The Third Squad reports the arrest of a Freeport man for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance that occurred on Monday, October 14, 2013 at 9:40 p.m. in East Meadow.

According to police, Third Precinct plain clothes officers were on patrol in an unmarked vehicle when they observed the defendant David A. Rodriguez, 34 of 296 Roosevelt Avenue operating a 2009 Infiniti southbound on Franklin Avenue. The defendant failed to signal as he made a left turn at Roosevelt Avenue. The officers conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop at which time they discovered a plastic jar containing what appears to be marihuana in the cup holder along with a vaporizer. During the investigation they also discovered 3 clear plastic bags containing methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) in the vehicle. Rodriguez was placed under arrest without incident.

The defendant is charged with (1) one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd degree, (1) one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree and (1) one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree. He will be arraigned on Tuesday October 15, 2013 at First District Court in Hempstead.
